Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.

When you sell a man a book, you don't sell him 12 ounces of  
paper and glue, you sell him a whole new life.  

At times, it is better to keep your mouth shut and let  people wonder if you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
